About Casa Hogar
A warm home where abandoned and underprivileged children can breathe, grow, and dream again.
Meet Casa Hogar
Casa Hogar Diablos Rojos de Bélgica
At the 1986 FIFA World Cup in Mexico, the Red Devils made an impression not only on the pitch. They also wanted to do something for the many underprivileged children in Toluca. And so Casa Hogar was founded — literally 'the house by the hearth'.
The house is located on the border between Toluca and Zinacantepec. Since then, hundreds of orphaned and street children have been taken in and raised here. Even today, many Mexican children still don't get the opportunities they deserve.
Our doors opened
The idea was born in 1986. In February 1987, Casa opened its doors — and has never closed them to any child since.
More than a house
What is Casa Hogar?
A warm home and a safe haven where vulnerable children find love, security, and new opportunities. A place where wounds heal, dreams grow, and hope returns.
What does Casa Hogar do?
We take children to school every day and support them in their studies — from primary education to vocational training and university. Not a school, but a gateway to education.
What we stand for
We guide children, who often carry a difficult past, towards a hopeful future. Step by step, focusing on their emotional well-being, their education, their talents, and their opportunities.
The stages of the childcare and education process
Shelter & Safety
A warm first welcome in a safe environment. Food, care, clothing, and a bed are provided immediately.
Recovery & Trust
Children receive emotional support and psychological counseling. The focus is on healing trauma and restoring basic trust.
Education & Development
Access to school and education is guaranteed. We encourage discipline, knowledge, and creativity as a foundation.
Talent Development
Sports, art, and music help children discover their talents. Self-confidence grows and dreams take shape.
Social & Emotional Integration
Children learn to collaborate, show respect, and build relationships. They develop autonomy and responsibility.
Preparation for the Future
Young people are guided towards higher education, vocational training, or employment. Support does not end at age 18 — we remain their compass.
